Our Values
Inclusion
Our goal is that all people who engage with ACE (whether those we support, employees, volunteers or visitors) feel valued, respected and heard regardless of age, gender, race, sexuality or ability.
Empowerment:
ACE aims to operate on a “with, not for” basis. This means doing all that we can to enable those we support to take an active role in choosing how they engage with ACE, to develop the skills and understanding required to live an independent and fulfilling life on their own terms.
Resilience
We aim to show resilience in the way we deal with challenging situations, sticking with the people we support through difficult times and enabling them to develop their own resilience in the face of difficulties.
Empathy
We aim to try to understand the impact of the decisions we make and changes to the service we provide on those that we support and their families and to treat all those we encounter with kindness.
Excellence
We aspire to achieve excellence in all that we do, not settling for the minimum standard or a “that will do” approach.
Collaboration
We recognise that whilst ACE is a valued part of the lives of those we support it isn’t the only part. We aim to work together with those we support, their families and other services & support networks to ensure the part we play fits into their whole life experience.
Learning
We believe ACE should be a place of lifelong learning for both staff and those we support.
Listening
Ensuring that all who access ACE (service user & staff) feel listened to and that feedback is being used to improve the service as a whole.
